About the Actual Motorcycle

The YZR-M1 (OWS-4) is a machine developed by Yamaha for the 2007 MotoGP World Championship. It was developed in accordance with new regulations introduced in 2007, including a reduction in engine displacement from 990cc to 800cc.

The 800cc engine retained the same four-stroke inline four-cylinder layout used in the previous year’s machine and was mounted on a fully machined Deltabox frame.

In the 2007 season, in addition to the two factory Fiat Yamaha Team bikes, the French Tech3 Yamaha Team participated with riders Makoto Tamada (Japan) and Sylvain Guintoli (France). Tamada finished 18th in the annual standings, while Guintoli finished 16th, both demonstrating consistent performance.

About the Product

This is a plastic model assembly kit that faithfully reproduces the Yamaha YZR-M1 (OWS-4) that competed in the 2007 MotoGP World Championship.

The model is in 1/12 scale, with an overall finished length of approximately 172mm and a width of 58mm, accurately replicating the racing bike’s mechanisms in detail.

The engine is a highly detailed inline four-cylinder unit, including auxiliary components. The Deltabox frame shape, as well as the front and rear suspension, are precisely modeled for a highly mechanical finish.

Various piping and wires on the engine and frame are reproduced using vinyl tubing. Small metal screws are used for mounting the engine and cowl, ensuring a secure and precise assembly.

Markings include those of Makoto Tamada and Sylvain Guintoli from the Tech3 Yamaha Team, who competed in the 2007 MotoGP season.
