Its silhouette took France by surprise in 1948. The 2CV was the reply to the wishes of the Citroën Chairman who requested “4 wheels under an umbrella” which “loaded with eggs, can cross a ploughed field, without breaking a single egg”. That‘s exactly what he did one day in front of the cameras! So successful was this car that the delivery period reached 6 years in 1950.
